My 3 passions in life are peaks, pilgrimage and the power of nature to heal. Now working in the Adventure Travel sector as a Guide & Mountain Leader, I began hiking 35 years ago. Working life started in health care as an Occupational Therapist but my eyes were always turned to the view outside the window.
Life took a winding road but my desire was always to live in the Highlands, so I moved here in 2018.
In the past few years, I've completed the Munros (282 Scottish mountains over 3000 ft) & walked the Camino de Santiago across Spain in 2010. Hiking had taken me to Spain’s Sierra Nevada, the Canadian Rockies, Morocco & Nepal. I still have a passion for ‘through routes’ and have completed a number of these in the UK.
As a freelance Mountain Leader I'm a member of the Mountain Training Association (MTA) which is the membership organisation for walking and mountain leaders, climbing instructors and coaches. The MTA over-sees a number of walking awards and the Mountain Leader Award is nationally-recognised throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
All award-holders have been through a rigorous training and assessment process, and we all undertake continued professional development to keep our skills and experience up to date. My MTA number is 159098.
As a freelancer I hold Public Liability Insurance as your safety is of paramount importance. The UK has some of the best walking, hiking and wild camping anywhere and it's my pleasure and privilege to share it with you.
